What to Watch the Week of January 21: The Bachelor Returns and Sofía Vergara's Griselda Premieres

The Bachelor is back this Monday night with 28-year-old tennis pro Joey Graziadei (from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelorette) in the driver’s seat. After the massive success of The Golden Bachelor, I can’t say I’m dying to see another twenty-something try to fall in love (seriously, what’s it going to take to get some more 30-and-40-something bachelors and bachelorettes in the mix?), but Joey’s season is being billed as the most romantic, so maybe I’ll be surprised. (If nothing else, they do go to Italy).

And speaking of The Golden Bachelor, the ASKN ladies (April, Susan, Kathy, and Nancy) appeared in a promo for Joey’s season over the holidays, and Joey appeared on their season, so I wouldn’t rule out our favorite ladies making an appearance on this season of The Bachelor. Let’s hope.

If you want something more dramatic—and by dramatic, I mean grittier, darker, and very violent—then you’re in luck, because Griselda premieres on Netflix this Thursday. Sofía Vergara is nearly unrecognizable in the lead role, and gives one hell of a performance, proving she’s always been more than just the hilarious Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.

Then on Friday, three of today’s hottest actors—Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, and Ncuti Gatwa—star in Apple TV+’s period drama, Masters of the Air, produced by heavyweights Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

Also, for all you Barry Keoghan fans, the Saltburn actor has the potential for his second Oscar nomination (he was nominated last year for The Banshees of Inisherin) when the 96th Academy Awards nominations come out this Tuesday, January 23. We’ll have the full list for you here.

In the meantime, check out all the other must-see offerings this week, and I’ll see you back here next Sunday to preview the return of Vanderpump Rules and Ryan Murphy’s second installment of Feud.
