As a woman of a certain age, I’ve lived through just about every modern incarnation of swimwear trends, and I’ve ignored most of them in favor of a fierce loyalty to one-piece bathing suits (with apologies to my husband). Unfortunately, as anyone else who is well-endowed can likely attest, one-pieces seldom do the girls justice. While I was historically content to go about my beach business looking saggy, that all changed when I discovered Boden. The British brand, which is beloved by Kate Middleton (FWIW), makes the best swimsuit I’ve ever encountered.
It comes with underwire in a fleet of cup sizes, which is a rarity, so it fits as well as any bra, giving the ol’ bosom a real boost. The suit now has a cult following (well, around my 40-something gal group at least) because on top of being cleavage-friendly, it’s also comfortable and fully lined. Plus, it has removable straps if you want to avoid tan lines (don’t forget the SPF!), and it’s thick enough to keep you snatched if you’re in the market for something with tummy control.
The reason I’m choosing now to stop gatekeeping this info (as the TikTokers say) is that Boden is having a big sale. The entire site is 20% off until February 22 (and then it’s 15% off until the 24th). The brand has an extremely generous return policy, so if I were you, I’d grab a suit and maybe also a few things that Boden is better known for, like royal-approved coquettish sweaters, frill-collar tops, spring wedding-guest dresses, and some adorable clothes for little ones.
Though they don’t come as cheap as our go-to Amazon bathing suits or the stock of Target tankinis I replenish every summer, these actually last year after year and wash super well. The wash is ultra-important to me because I love a pool snack and the only thing I tend to attract on the shore are stains. (Exhibit A, in below.)
