Quinta Brunson Says She'll ‘Never Again’ Star in Another Show She Writes

After breaking into entertainment with her hilarious internet content and firmly establishing herself in Hollywood as the creator and star of Emmy darling Abbott Elementary, Quinta Brunson isn’t slowing down. But she’s not going to be starring in her next project.

“I know for a fact I’ll never star in a show again, that I write. Never again,” Brunson told Meet the Press’s Kristen Welker, who interviewed the 33-year-old for Glamour’s Women of the Year issue. This year, Brunson is one of our five US honorees, alongside Brooke Shields, Geena Rocero, Mary J. Blige, and Selma Blair. They join Glamour‘s global honorees, Millie Bobby Brown and America Ferrera.

“Well, I guess never say never, but I know I will never star in something that I also write. Too much. Too, too much, will never do that again. I’m in it. I love it right now, but I’m like, Never again. And then I really want to produce a show that I’m not in, that I’m really excited about, so hopefully, I get to get that in motion soon.”
