Kylie Jenner is amassing quite the vintage collection, ranging from Theirry Mugler to Comme des Garçons. It comes as no surprise, then, that she opted for an archival look to celebrate her 26th birthday: specifically, a Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the Noughties.
Thanking her followers for their birthday wishes, Jenner shared several snaps on Instagram of herself in the halterneck number from the designer’s Soleil line, while on board a yacht. Featuring a cut-out back, it offered a subtle way to reveal some skin—in contrast to naked dress trend which shows no signs of going away anytime soon.
The piece is by no means the only vintage JPG in Kylie Jenner’s collection. In 2021, the beauty mogul was spotted wearing a conical bra dress, dating back to 1987, at the Parsons Awards in New York. That summer, she also wore a ’90s printed halterneck dress with an exposed midriff from the designer’s Soleil line.
The vintage revival we’ve seen in recent years arguably all began with JPG, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Cardi B all championing the designer’s archival pieces. As the A-list continues to jet off on summer holidays, expect to see more vintage JPG in the weeks to come.
