Key Facts
Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis told reporters the events surrounding Russell’s disappearance and subsequent return home are still under investigation.
Derzis said Russell told police that after seeing a child walking on the interstate, she was taken by a man and a woman, adding Russell described not seeing the woman’s face and only hearing her voice.
Russell’s internet search history was also mentioned during the police presser, which revealed Google searches of the movie action-thriller kidnapping movie Taken the day she was reportedly abducted.
